A bag is one of the accessories that best expresses a woman’s style; in this article we take a closer look at luxury handbag brands and their signature styles.
A WOMAN’S TRUE IDENTITY IS HER BAG
Did you know you can very easily read a woman’s character from the bags she chooses? Simple, chic, colourful, plain, unconventional, classic, and so on…

For every woman, a bag is love. You may not even use many of your old bags. But you know they are there and they are yours. It is that kind of passion. What’s more, every year, alongside the classics, some quite unconventional bag designs from the world’s big brands can become trends.
Chanel and Louis Vuitton
Among the brands I have reviewed for you, Chanel of course comes out on top. Founded in 1909 by Coco Chanel, the brand has a serious fan base all over the world. While its small bags in particular become iconic every year, new details are increasingly in demand. With bright greens on black and a multicoloured brand logo, you can enjoy simplicity and distinctiveness at the same time.

Louis Vuitton, regarded as the world’s most respected handbag brand, is stepping away from its classic line this year. It is also being seen more often with designs in red, purple, orange and burgundy.
What’s more, founded as a fashion house in France in 1854, it has managed to appeal to every style with its LV logo. That is why I think every woman should have one of its classic models in her wardrobe. At the same time, backpacks are increasingly popular; they started a lovely movement and then began to trend at many other brands. You can also choose one when heading to the gym and look both chic and comfortable.

Gucci and Hermès
Named the best global brand in 2009, Gucci is a very ambitious name every year, and a very popular one too. Founded in 1921, the brand has been everywhere ever since with its GG logo. Its leopard prints, floral embellishments and, likewise, its backpacks are making their mark in the shop windows.

One of the most expensive brands is Hermès. It was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès. Because its classic model has led the way for many brands, it remains a trend every year. As for this year’s designs from the brand that symbolises luxury, we see designs with contrasting colours on the strap section. Its mini bags can also look very chic for a night out.

Yves Saint Laurent and others
The Yves Saint Laurent brand was founded under its designer’s name. Despite changing hands many times, the brand has not lost its value. Very popular with women since 1962, the brand was strategically shortened to YSL. In its 2016 designs, dominated by burgundy, black, plum and purple, the trend for gold and silver hardware continues.

Michael Kors, more popular with young women, was founded in 1981. Even so, thanks to its distinctive designs, it has taken its place among the well-known established handbag brands. Using softer colours in its 2016 collections, the brand favoured tassels in its designs. Powder pinks and pale blues are among the bags of 2016 you won’t be able to take your eyes off.

With Karl Lagerfeld’s extraordinary creativity, Fendi comes to us with very distinctive bags. So if you love the unconventional and quality, don’t miss Fendi’s collection. With its wild embellishments and bag clasps, you can express your individuality through your bag.

Dolce&Gabbana, Balenciaga and Givenchy are among the other world-famous brands. Finally, when buying the bags you fill with more than you need, it pays to make sure they are as practical as they are good-looking.
Happy shopping.
When choosing between luxury handbag brands
What makes a bag an investment piece is not just its logo. What matters is the quality of the leather, the stitching, the interior layout and how well it ages over the years. A classic model stays in your wardrobe for a long time, regardless of seasonal trends. More unconventional designs, on the other hand, add personality to your style. When choosing between luxury handbag brands, first think about how you will use the bag in your daily life. A shoulder bag, a backpack, or a small clutch for the evening?
Hermès, for example, was founded in Paris in 1837 by Thierry Hermès as a saddle and harness workshop. You can read the brand’s story in the Hermès entry on Wikipedia. And for another accessory that completes your outfit, take a look at our eyewear suggestions for a cool look.
