Hair accessories are one of the most practical fashion details, able to transform a simple outfit in a matter of seconds.

Not only today but for centuries, in many civilisations, hair has been a symbol of health and beauty. Before going out, for example, we always stand in front of the mirror and take a look at our hair. Some of us even spend minutes in front of the mirror fussing with our hair. Indeed, change must have a positive effect on a person. Many women change their hair colour or style when under intense stress. If our hair is bad, our day is bad! So let’s add beauty to the beauty of our hair. Let’s be sure to keep some of the lovely hair accessories that are so fashionable this season in our wardrobes.

    This season’s standout hair accessories

    1. Headbands: Headbands in fabrics such as satin, leather, silk and velvet, plain orhair accessories — A woman wearing a crown of pink and white flowers in her long blonde hair, seen from behindImage: A woman wearing a crown of pink and white flowers in her long blonde hair, seen from behind (representative image) — freestocks.org freestocks, Wikimedia Commons, CC0adorned with various stones, are very much in fashion this season. For instance, we can decorate any fabric we like with stones at home. Or we can cut up lace we no longer use and make very cute, lovely
headbands for our hair. In this way, we also make use of many clothes we have at home that we no longer wear but can’t bear to throw away. And before I forget, pearl headbands are very popular. So how about turning your pearl necklaces into a headband?

    2. Bobby pins: We used to use bobby pins in our buns and in hair gathered into
a ponytail. This season, however, bobby pins have taken their place among the trend accessories. The style in which we part the hair to the side and place several bobby pins side by side is especially popular.
    3. Floral hair clips: Floral clips and crowns are the favourites of the spring months. In other words, the crowns we made for our hair from daisies as children are now everywhere.

    4. Hair brooches: Hair brooches with gold and silver details are especially worth wearing on a night out. These brooches can make even a simple outfit the star of the night. In recent years, they have also become a favourite at many fashion shows.

    5. Hair clips with bows: Bows, which we are used
to wearing on our dresses, have become the cutest accessories for our hair. We can even tie our scarves into our hair as a bow and add colour to our outfits. At evening events in particular, make a headband with a bow from the fabric of your dress and wear it. It will add a chic flourish to your outfit.

    6. Hair feathers and chains: Feathers and chains are essentials of the bold boho style.
These accessories, which are also my favourite hair pieces, have been very fashionable in recent years. They are a great choice for those who want to do something different with their hair. Say, for example, we wear a perfectly plain dress. When we put a feathered band or a simple chain in our hair, the boho style is reflected in our street style. Adorn your hair with lively, colourful hair feathers in all sorts of patterns and add some flair to your look.

    How to choose hair accessories

The first step to choosing the right piece is to think about your hair length and your day. On short hair, bobby pins and thin headbands look more balanced. On long hair, headbands with bows and brooches stand out with a bun or ponytail. For example, a fabric or pearl headband for daytime and a jewelled brooch for evening is a good start. Hair accessories also shouldn’t compete with the outfit. A simple headband with a patterned dress, and a colourful bow with a plain outfit, give a more harmonious result.
