Is dressing for your age really a rule, or is it a limit we set for ourselves? In this week’s article, we talk about our style, which swings between the young girl inside us and our womanly spirit. We also touch on the importance of dressing with confidence.

    I’M DEFYING THE YEARS: I’M STILL 17

Hello, my lovelies. As you can see from our picture, this week’s article took shape with the idea that “two of me make one”. With my childlike and womanly spirits, I tackled the question of dressing for your age. I hope I can help you with this… Should I dress for my age?

If you ask me that, the first thing I want to say in reply is this: girls, I don’t want to dress for my age; I want to dress for my spirit. I’m sure you feel the same. Personally, there’s still a 17-year-old girl inside me. But of course this mood changes from day to day. Isn’t it the same for you? Come on, when you get up one morning, doesn’t your mood say “today I want to dress casually”? Trainers, a cap, a tracksuit…

Or girlish-looking knee socks, short skirts with hoodies and beanies on top… I can almost hear you saying “exactly” 🙂 But then, have you never woken up one morning and said “today I’m going to take the town by storm with a womanly air”? There’s the question and there’s the answer: we should dress according to our spirit.

    Dressing for your spirit

Or if you ask me “should I change my style according to my age?”… honestly, why would I change my style because of my age? Wouldn’t that be a shame for me :)? Wouldn’t it be a shame for the girl inside me? For heaven’s sake, tell me 😉 And I’m saying it loud and clear: NEVERRRR… Yes, NEVER, because style has nothing to do with age — that’s what I think.

A woman of 50 or 60, if she is confident in her figure, can wear a mini dress, skinny jeans, shorts and even a midriff-baring top. But she definitely needs to be in good shape for these. Above all, she should trust her body and “defy the years”. If she does, it will never look out of place.

So what do we do? 🙂 We look after ourselves and our bodies. We don’t let the years swallow us up in one gulp. We exercise, dress the way we want and carry what we wear like LIONESSES. Defy the years, don’t limit your style by your age. Look after yourself and wear whatever you wear with confidence. Remember: dress for your mood.

    • Whether childlike or womanly, I know you’ll do both of them justice 🙂 No one should underestimate us Turkish women. There’s nothing we can’t do if we want to — there simply can’t be! In short, all we need to do is live healthily, exercise and keep a dynamic mind 🙂 So we say: keep on defying the years 🙂 See you in my next article, girlsssss.

Dressing for what suits you rather than for your age

The main idea of our article is clear: style is shaped not by your date of birth but by your state of mind. Your lifestyle and how you feel about yourself are decisive too. However, this doesn’t mean everything will suit you in the same way at every age. What really matters is that the clothes make you feel comfortable and that you can wear them with confidence.

    • Fit and cut: Clothes that fit your body well look more stylish, whatever your age.
    • Fabric quality: A good fabric makes even the simplest piece look more polished.
    • A youthful touch: For example, adding trainers, a colourful bag or an on-trend accessory to a classic outfit freshens up the look.
