Girlsssss, this week, to find answers to the questions about cosmetic surgery that we ladies are so curious about, I set off for Nişantaşı and went to the office of an expert in the field,
Op. Dr. GÖKHAN HAYTOĞLU , and had a lovely interview with him…. Let’s see what we talked about…;)

Could you tell us a little about yourself?
And.. a question I’m really curious about: why did you choose this profession 🙂
Hello. Actually, choosing this profession was partly fate’s doing. Until I was 18, I did not want to become a doctor, because there were so many doctors in the family. I had engineering in mind, but I made my choices knowing that the university entrance exam results would point me to Hacettepe Medicine. And so I set out on this path. During my studies, I came to feel that the specialty that interested me most and that I would love to practise was plastic surgery. Then, by working very hard, I reached my goal.
1. At what age should one start having cosmetic surgery?
In fact, the age limit for cosmetic surgery is over 18, apart from some exceptional cases. That is because we need to wait for the person’s psychological and physical development to be complete..

2. What is the most requested cosmetic procedure?
At the moment, liposuction and buttock surgery are among the most popular cosmetic procedures, partly due to Kim Kardashian’s influence. People want tiny waists and lifted bottoms.

3. Is a nose job a procedure that needs to be repeated?
There is such a misconception about rhinoplasty. For example, there are people around us who have had more than one nose job. Of course, a revision may be necessary in some cases, but in fact, if the necessary precautions are taken in the first operation to preserve the framework and function of the nose, we minimise the risk of having nose surgery again and again.
(In other words, having it done once, with a trustworthy doctor and good precautions, is far more heartening:)
What is hi-def liposuction?
4. I’ve been hearing a lot about hi-def liposuction lately. Could you tell us a little about it?
Of course..
Hi-def liposuction is another procedure I perform very often. The aim of this operation is to turn bodies into athletic bodies, to create definition. That means creating a six-pack, the “baklava” abdominal muscles, in men, and bringing out athletic body contours in women.
In fact, it is a very popular procedure designed to create, in an operation of a few hours, the body contours that would otherwise take years of exercise to achieve.
For this procedure I use an ultrasound-assisted device. What is more, this device allows me to work more finely and, thanks to its sound waves, tightens the skin, unlike classic liposuction. At the same time, I use the fat I remove to accentuate the chest and shoulder muscles in men, and transfer it to the breasts or buttocks in women to create curvier contours. That way, I can kill three birds with one stone.

What you need to know before cosmetic surgery
Like any surgical procedure, cosmetic surgery requires a careful decision-making process. As emphasised in the interview, the age limit for these operations is over 18, apart from some exceptions, and the person is expected to have completed their physical and psychological development.
