What’s on at CNR Fashionist 2019?
The fair is a trade platform that brings together companies producing eveningwear, bridalwear, groomswear and formalwear. In this way, these companies meet buyers and fashion lovers. More than 100 companies will exhibit their products at the event. The programme is enriched with fashion shows and events. The fair opens its doors at the CNR Expo Istanbul Exhibition Centre. The fair is held in collaboration with the Osmanbey Textile Businessmen’s Association (OTIAD) and with the support of KOSGEB (Turkey’s small business development agency).
Why do fashion fairs matter?
Fashion fairs are gatherings where manufacturers can present their new collections in one place. Buyers come both from within Turkey and from abroad. For visitors in particular, they offer the chance to see the season’s colours, fabrics and cuts up close. As a result, CNR Fashionist 2019 also aims to contribute to the sector’s export potential. At the same time, it aims to increase its commercial capacity.
Tips for visitors to the fair
- Plan ahead: Note the companies you want to see and the show times; you will save time in the vast exhibition area.
- Collect business cards and catalogues: Companies’ contact details come in very handy later, especially for boutiques considering wholesale purchases.
- Touch the fabric and the craftsmanship: Especially with eveningwear and bridalwear, the quality of the stitching, lining and embroidery is far easier to judge up close than from photos.
- Don’t miss the shows: The runway is the best way to see how a design looks in motion.
Eveningwear and bridalwear are pieces that accompany moments you will remember for a lifetime, rather than a one-season trend. So don’t judge the designs you see at the fair by photos alone. Also look at the drape of the fabric, the quality of the lining and how the cut sits on the body. In short, this is the surest way to make the right choice. Finally, we will share the fair’s details and shots from the shows on Fresh Models Magazin.
