In fashion, the new season begins at the trade fairs long before it reaches the runways. Every year from January to March, buyers, brands, fabric mills and designers meet at fairs across Europe, the US and Asia to settle the orders and materials for the season ahead. According to the Fall/Winter 2027 (FW27) trade fair calendar published by FashionUnited on 6 November, the season kicks off in Amsterdam in the first days of January 2027 and wraps up in Shanghai in mid-March. We have rounded up the key stops on the calendar, along with the dates announced by organisers and trade fair guides.
January: Florence and Paris take the stage
The first major gathering of the season is Pitti Uomo, menswear’s most important trade fair. According to Pitti Immagine’s official website, the 111th edition will take place from 12–15 January 2027 at Florence’s historic Fortezza da Basso. FashionUnited reports that this edition’s theme is “Wild”. Florence will also host the childrenswear fair Pitti Bimbo at the same venue on 20–21 January.
Right after Florence, the menswear shows begin in Milan; according to FashionUnited’s calendar, Milano Moda Uomo will run from 15–19 January. In Paris, from 16–18 January, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles will host the ready-to-wear and accessories fair Who’s Next and the jewellery fair Bijorhca.
At the end of January, Paris becomes the capital of fabric. Première Vision Paris, the most important fair in the world of materials, will open its doors at Paris Nord Villepinte on 26–28 January 2027, as reported by trade fair guides. Here, manufacturers of fabrics, yarns, leather and trims will present their innovations for the following spring/summer season (SS28). A day earlier, on 25–27 January, Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, organised by Messe Frankfurt, will bring fabric and apparel manufacturers together with brands at the Paris-Le Bourget exhibition centre.
February: Scandinavia, Germany and the US
According to FashionUnited’s calendar, Berlin Fashion Week will take place from 29 January–1 February and Copenhagen Fashion Week from 1–5 February. In Copenhagen, the CIFF fair will bring together Scandinavian and international brands at the Bella Center on 2–4 February. In Düsseldorf, meanwhile, more than 600 showrooms spread across the city will be open to buyers from 27 January–3 February.
On the other side of the Atlantic, the contemporary womenswear fair Coterie will be held at New York’s Javits Center on 7–9 February, with New York Fashion Week following on 10–16 February. In Las Vegas, MAGIC and the menswear fair Project will welcome buyers at the Las Vegas Convention Center on 16–18 February. In Madrid, Momad will take place at IFEMA on 4–6 February, and in London, Scoop will be held at Olympia on 16–18 February.
Late February and March: The big shows
The trade fair calendar continues, intertwined with the major fashion weeks. According to FashionUnited, London Fashion Week has been provisionally scheduled for 18–22 February, the Milan womenswear shows for 23 February–1 March, and Paris Fashion Week for 1–9 March. The season’s last major stop is Shanghai: the fabric fair Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and the ready-to-wear fair CHIC will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center on 10–12 March.
The view from Turkey
This calendar is a roadmap not only for brands but also for the Turkish fashion and textile industry. Turkey is one of Europe’s most important suppliers of fabrics and ready-to-wear; materials fairs such as Première Vision and Texworld are among the most important showcases where Turkish manufacturers meet international brands directly. Pitti Uomo, meanwhile, is a stage where ambitious Turkish menswear labels can present themselves to buyers from around the world.
It is also worth remembering that fair dates need to be planned alongside the fashion weeks. Organisers note that dates may change; anyone planning to attend is advised to confirm the latest information on the fairs’ official websites.
